Top 3 Ways To Protect Your Skin This Summer
Don’t forget your summer essentials – Sunscreen, SPF and Serum Moisturizer!
Summer sun is here! Eclipse Medspa wants to share our top 3 tips in protecting your skin. While showing off a beautiful tan is tempting, the unnecessary exposure to the sun can wreak havoc and cause long-term damage. Let’s look at our top 3 skin care tips to protect you all summer long.
We can’t emphasize enough just how important it is to lather up each day! Your sunscreen needs to be applied daily and not just in your make-up or moisturizer. Sunscreens protect the skin from the sun’s damaging ultraviolet (UV) rays by either scattering the rays or absorbing them before they reach the skin. A good sunscreen needs to cover both the UVA and UVB exposure.
What is SPF you ask? SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor and it refers to the theoretical time you may spend in the sun before your chances of getting sunburn increase. Remember, the higher the SPF rating, the more rays will filter out the UV rays. The next question to ask is what SPF is right for me? While many of us slap on some sunscreen with SPF 15, this provides a false sense of security. The best SPF coverage is a medical grade 50+ and needs to be applied 20 minutes prior to leaving your home for it to be activated in the skin. Don’t forget to reapply every 1-2 hours if spending time directly in the sun. Rock that higher SPF with pride!
Daily application of topical antioxidants serum protects from cellular damage and prevent breakdown. If you want to reduce your chances of getting those brown spots, unnecessary lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, uneven skin texture and tone, apply your medical grade vitamin C serum daily. You cannot take antioxidants orally to protect outside of skin.
