Microchanneling in Colleyville

A non-invasive procedure to rejuvenate your skin.

Microchanneling is a fairly new treatment that not many people have heard of. It is best described as the enhanced version of a “Microneedling” treatment, which you may be more familiar with. The microchannel procedure uses a hand held device with tiny needles that puncture the skin, creating micro wounds. This is done across the treated area in a stamping pattern. All of these tiny microscopic injuries to the skin actually triggers the body’s healing response, which produces new collagen and elastin in the treated areas. This production causes the skin’s firmness and texture to dramatically improve. It also improves the appearance of pore size, stretch marks and scarring.

Microchanneling Treatments

Microchanneling is actually a very versatile treatment that can be used to treat a number of different skin conditions all across the body.

Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Fine lines and wrinkles are the most common skin condition that we see people wanting to treat with microchanneling. It is an especially effective treatment because the healing process that is triggered helps to “fill in” or plump the lines and wrinkles.

Skin Tightening

The production of elastin during the healing process helps to firm the skin and improve laxity. We most often see clients who want skin tightening done on their necks or arms, where loose skin can occur due to aging or weight loss.

Acne & Scarring

The regeneration of collagen can improve skin tone and texture, which means blemishes from acne or scars can be dramatically improved.

Stretch Marks

Because Microchanneling improves line and wrinkles, as well as scarring and blemishes, it is actually as suprisingly effective treatment to reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

Microchanneling, Microneedling, Microdermabrasion... What is the difference?

It can be confusing with all of the different treatment options available today, to know which one is right for you. However, it is important that you know the differences so you can make an educated decision.

Microchanneling and Microneedling are very similar treatments, with the only difference being the type of device that is used. Microneedling uses a roller device with micro needles that penetrate the skin as it is rolled over the treatment area. Microchanneling uses a stamp device, that stamps micro needles into the skin. Both ultimately perform the same treatment, however it has been found that the roller device used in Microneedling can cause micro-tears in the skin as it is rolled across, causing unnecessary trauma to the skin.

Microdermabrasion is a different type of treatment entirely. This procedure uses a device with a rough surface that essentially scrubs your skin like sandpaper to exfoliate, removing dead skin cells and built up keratin on the outer layer. This result is brighter, smoother skin and improvement to blemishes. However, the amount of collagen produced by this procedure is mainly superficial, and it does not produce enough to rejuvenate deep wrinkles or tighten loose skin like the Microchanneling treatment can.

The results speak for themself.

The results are typically noticeable after just one treatment, however 3 to 6 treatments are recommended for best results.
